Pakistani Wedding

I had the honor of photographing my first Muslim wedding ceremony this weekend.  It was Pakistani couple, Saima & Mudassar, and a great two day event it was.  They were incredible and very open to creative work.  I had the opportunity to learn a lot of new wedding terms (nikkah, barat, walima, iman & others) and experience the color and culture of the islamic ceremony.

Capturing Love

It is really exciting to look back on photos that I take and remember the love that was flowing during the wedding.  I spent a lot of time this weekend editing, and it reminded me of why I photograph weddings.  While they are extremely busy and sometimes crazy events, I appreciate how important they are in a couples life.  They mark a very important time and my goal is to capture photos of their special day that they will cherish for many years to come.

Piper & Tye's Beautiful Michigan Wedding

I had the privilege of photographing Piper & Tye's wedding in Michigan.  They are a great couple that wanted creative photos to remember their wedding day.  I was able to capture some great shots of them in a few different locations.  Above is a bean field from behind Tye's parents home.  More photos to come.

Happy Memorial Day

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day.  I had the chance to cover a Memorial Day Parade in Linden, Michigan.  The parade started at the Linden VFW hall and ended at the Linden Cemetery. It was nice to see the community come together to remember those who have fought and  died for our country.  We live in the best country in the world and owe our freedom from those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us.   I had the chance to spend time with many veterans who have fought in many wars and here is a photo of two of the vets getting ready for the parade.
