Flint Generals Hockey

On Saturday 2-16-08 the Flint Generals battled against the Ft. Wayne Komets at Perani Arena in Flint Michigan. The game was a tough battle for both the Komets and the Generals. The Flint Generals were successful after a goal in overtime. Here are a few pictures from the game.

Fight Night at The Palace of Auburn Hills

It was a pleasure working for Joe Donofiro, the promoter of Fight Night at the Palace of Auburn Hills,  Michigan. Joe is a class act and puts on a great show. Joe has a true love for boxing and does more than his part to promote the sport. Here are a few pictures from the evening of boxing.

Sarah's benefit concert

I am a little behind in posting but here are a few photos from a benefit concert that Contemporary Christian singer Sarah Schieber put on. Sarah lost her husband Chad just weeks before her concert. Sarah's faith gave her amazing strength to go on with the planned concert. It was a pleasure meeting Sarah and photographing her concert.

It is better to give than receive.

I had the pleasure to photograph a toy giveaway Christmas Eve this year. The Red Cross on Coldwater Rd. in Mt Morris Michigan, had a truck load of toys to give away. The toys were donated by one anonymous donor and Red Cross volunteers spent Christmas Eve giving away the toys.

It is difficult for me to separate myself from the subjects I photograph. I was moved by the hundreds of people who endured the blistering cold for a new Christmas toy. We take for granted so many things. These people may not have had Ipods under their tree and were thrilled to receive a new toy for Christmas. The Red Cross planned on giving away two toys per person but because there was such a huge turnout they could only give away one toy.

Christmas is about giving.

For me Christmas is about giving. The good Lord gave us his Son as a gift of eternal life. The least I can do is give to others. I have signed up with Kiva.org and slowly been giving to different people around the world. If you have not visited Kiva.org go ahead and do so. It will make you realize that a small amount of money can make a big difference. Here is my Kiva page.

Winter starts in November.....well in Michigan it does.

Well in Michigan we get used to getting snow starting mid November. This year we had early snow in November which melted. Well guess what, yep it snowed again. This time I ran out of my office to take a picture. Here is a wet and heavy snow with a few deer wandering through the front yard. This is not a photography shot but a quick photo of the snow, brrrrr.

Difficult Children? Movie Stars?

My boys, Matthew & Sam, were looking for some creative work from their father. They like to make faces at the camera so after looking at the photos that were taken yesterday I did a quick movie poster for them. They both sometimes think they are movie stars, they are on YouTube you know! Well here is a quick picture from our little photo shoot with "the boys".

Embarrased Pastor/Minister?

Many times as photographers we focus in tight on the couples "first kiss" and miss out on what happens around them. Here I was able to catch the pastor's reaction as he was a little embarrassed during a pretty long kiss.

Trash the Dress...... ok not so trashed.

I am starting to get a lot of interest in "Trash the Dress" photo shoots. For those of you that don't know, this is where the bride will take her dress out for a photo shoot instead of hiding it away in a box. Most are not afraid of "trashing" the dress on the photo shoot. I will post a few of my trash the dress photo shoots. Here is one of Ferann that I did recently. Ferann was married a few years ago and told me that she never had good wedding photos and wanted to use the dress to get some good photo results. Here are a few samples of Ferann at an old train depot.
